Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! The teachers and staff here at Rancho del Rey Middle are excited to begin this school year in a new and different way. We want to welcome our returning as well as new students and families in a way that will bring our whole school together, communicate our school values, and help us start the school year off right! Research shows that when students feel connected to their school community they are more successful. We are starting the school year with the intent of increasing our relationships and building culture. At Rancho del Rey Middle School we’re committed to supporting ALL of our students as they work towards their educational and personal goals.
Our theme for the 2017/2018 school year is: Respect Others Yourself and Learning (R.O.Y.A.L). Our students are valued members of the RDRMS ‘family, ’ and we are excited to see them grow as young adults as they participate in the many opportunities our school has to offer. This theme will be incorporated into classroom activities, guest speakers and teambuilding activities. Our “Royal Way Day” will have a modified schedule on Friday July 21st from 7:35am-2:40pm. Please note this is a full day. Students will report to their advisory classes in the morning and will remain with this class the entire day.
As a part of our “Royal Way Day,” we are working on creating a community together. In order to celebrate, we are providing a photo booth, games, scavenger hunt, Club Fair, and DJ at lunchtime.
The students will be participating in teambuilding activities so please make sure they wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. We will be having a ton of fun, and we want to make sure everybody is able to participate!
During the day, students will earn advisory spirit points as they participate in various activities. The 7th and 8th grade advisory with the most points will earn a pizza party.
We are so excited to start the school year off with a bang!
