On Sunday, Oct. 15, there is a free heart screening for youth 12-25 years old at Southwest High School (9am-3pm) sponsored by the Eric Paredes Save-A-Life Foundation. Please share with your family, friends, and neighbors.

Fall Pictures will be distributed to students to take home this week. You may still order online at mylifetouch.com by using the Portrait ID and Access Code from your proof sheet or envelope.
Make-Up/Retake day is scheduled for September 6th. Students that were absent on picture day will be receive a pass to come to the CAC to take their photo and receive their ID card. If you would like to retake your photo (no ID retakes) you MUST bring your photos and will be allowed to retake during nutrition break or lunch in the CAC.
Open House will be held on Thursday August 17th at 6 pm. This is a chance for 7th and 8th grade parents to meet their students teachers and get a feel for what Rancho del Rey Middle is all about. There will be tables out in the pavilion before open house promoting after school athletics, clubs, PTSO and more. There will also be food available for purchase. You can now pre-pay for your child’s school meals from the convenience of your home or office. When you use PayPAMS (Parent Account Management System), you can view your child’s meal account balance, schedule automatic payments, receive low balance email reminders, view spending reports and view your child’s school cafeteria menu. Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! The teachers and staff here at Rancho del Rey Middle are excited to begin this school year in a new and different way. We want to welcome our returning as well as new students and families in a way that will bring our whole school together, communicate our school values, and help us start the school year off right! Research shows that when students feel connected to their school community they are more successful. We are starting the school year with the intent of increasing our relationships and building culture. At Rancho del Rey Middle School we’re committed to supporting ALL of our students as they work towards their educational and personal goals.
Our theme for the 2017/2018 school year is: Respect Others Yourself and Learning (R.O.Y.A.L). Our students are valued members of the RDRMS ‘family, ’ and we are excited to see them grow as young adults as they participate in the many opportunities our school has to offer. This theme will be incorporated into classroom activities, guest speakers and teambuilding activities. Our “Royal Way Day” will have a modified schedule on Friday July 21st from 7:35am-2:40pm. Please note this is a full day. Students will report to their advisory classes in the morning and will remain with this class the entire day.
As a part of our “Royal Way Day,” we are working on creating a community together. In order to celebrate, we are providing a photo booth, games, scavenger hunt, Club Fair, and DJ at lunchtime.
The students will be participating in teambuilding activities so please make sure they wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. We will be having a ton of fun, and we want to make sure everybody is able to participate!
During the day, students will earn advisory spirit points as they participate in various activities. The 7th and 8th grade advisory with the most points will earn a pizza party.
We are so excited to start the school year off with a bang!
Due to the high interest in ASB purchases we have decided to open the ASB for preschool sales this Wednesday July 19th from 8am- 11am. The ASB will also be open during regular school hours. Please note the ASB will be closed all day on Friday July 21st for Royal Way Day. ASB order forms can be found under the ASB page.
